For tradies and local service businesses

I was a plumber for 15 years. Now I get tradies found online.

I build websites and get tradies and local service businesses showing up on Google. I do all the work myself, so you’re always talking to the person doing it.

The problem

You’re good at the job. That was never the problem.

Most of your work comes from word of mouth, and it has been fine. But the quiet weeks are getting harder to explain, the website someone built you four years ago does nothing, and the blokes turning up above you on Google aren’t better tradies. They’re just easier to find.

Your next customer is searching right now. The only question is whether they find you or someone else.

Hi, I’m Stu

Before the websites, there was the van.

I spent 15 years in plumbing, including 10 years running my own plumbing business in the UK. I know what it’s like to be flat out on the tools all day and then try to work out why your website isn’t bringing in calls, or whether that Google Ads spend is actually doing anything.

I know what a quiet fortnight does to your head, and how fast a slow month turns into dropping your prices to fill the diary. I also know the bloke sitting above you on Google usually isn’t a better tradesman. He just sorted his website out.

That’s why I do this differently. I’m not here to baffle you with reports full of terms nobody explained to you. I’m here to understand your business, tell you honestly what will help, and get on with it. If something isn’t worth spending money on, I’ll say so.

These days I’m based in Christchurch and work with trade and service businesses here and overseas. Same person start to finish, and the same phone number every time.

What I do

Three things. In plain English.

Most businesses start with one of these. They work best together, and I will tell you honestly which ones you actually need.

  1. Your website

    Also known as Web design

A site that makes people want to call you, and makes it easy when they do. Quick to load on a phone, clear about what you do and where you do it.

  2. Getting found on Google

Also known as SEO, AEO and GEO

Showing up when someone nearby searches for what you do. That now includes the AI tools plenty of people ask before they ever open Google.

  3. Paying to be at the top

    Also known as Google Ads

Straight to the top of the results while the rest builds up. You set the budget, I set up the campaigns and manage them.

The jargon, decoded

What those words actually mean.

You will hear these three thrown around. Here is what they mean, without the sales pitch.

  • What is SEO?

SEO is showing up on Google when someone searches for what you do, in the normal results rather than the ads. You don’t pay Google for those positions, you earn them.

  • What is AEO?

AEO is being the answer when Google or an AI replies directly instead of showing a list of links. It stands for answer engine optimisation.

  • What is GEO?

GEO is making sure AI tools like ChatGPT know who you are and recommend you properly. It stands for generative engine optimisation.

You don’t need to remember any of that. Knowing it is my job, and it is all part of getting found on Google.

How it works

Simple, from the first message.

  1. 01

    Tell me about your business

A quick message or call. What you do, where you work, and what is not working right now.

  2. 02

    I’ll take an honest look

No sales pitch, no pressure. Just what I would actually recommend and why.

  3. 03

    We get to work

You will always know what is happening, and you will be able to reach me directly.

Who this is for

Built for tradies and local service businesses.

If you run a trade business, or any local service business that lives on word of mouth and local search, this is for you. You don’t need a marketing degree to work with me. You just need to know your trade.

Why work with me

It’s just me, and that’s the point.

When you work with a big agency, you are often a ticket in a queue. When you work with me, you are talking to the person who is actually building your site, running your ads, or doing your SEO.

I only take on businesses I can genuinely give proper attention to, because I would rather do a smaller number of jobs well than spread myself thin.

Let’s talk

Let’s have a chat about your business.

No obligation, no scripts. Just a conversation about what you need and whether I am a good fit to help.
